At Chocs ‘N Boxes, we’ve put together answers to some of the most common questions about our chocolates, gifting options, and services. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, our team is always here to help
1. Where does your chocolate come from?
Our cacao is grown on our own farm in Calbayog City, Samar, Philippines. Each pod is hand-harvested, fermented, and sun-dried before being shipped to our Illinois shop, where we roast and craft every batch from bean to bar
2. Are your chocolates handmade?
Yes. Every bonbon, bar, and confection is handcrafted in small batches by our chocolatiers — molded, filled, and finished by hand with care and precision.
3. Do you use preservatives?
No. Our chocolates are made fresh using natural ingredients and pure cacao butter — never artificial preservatives or additives. For best quality, enjoy within 2–4 weeks of purchase.
4. How should I store my chocolates?
Keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong odors. The ideal temperature is 65–70°F (18–21°C). Avoid refrigeration to prevent moisture and sugar bloom.
5. Do you offer shipping and pickup?
Yes. We ship within the United States and offer free local pickup at our shop in the Norridge/Des Plaines area of Illinois.
6. Allergen Information
All our chocolates are made in a facility that also processes nuts, dairy, soy, and wheat. We handle ingredients with care, but cross-contact may occur. Please read individual product descriptions for specific allergen details.
7. Are your chocolates gluten-free or vegan?
Some of our dark chocolates are naturally vegan and gluten-free. However, due to shared equipment, they may contain traces of wheat or dairy. Always refer to the product label or ask us directly before ordering.
8. Do you accept custom or bulk orders?
